Rimmel London took their first steps back into the live music arena since linking with Capital Radio and the legendary Parties in the Park as official make-up sponsor of the Isle of Wight festival in June 2008.
Rimmel’s brief to the event business was to make a big noise and capture the imagination of a 70,000 audience through a combination of awareness and trial. To achieve this we designed and built the Rimmel London Oasis, a haven of peace in the midst of the festival mayhem. With a hi-impact branded London Bus as a backdrop and some wildly garish phoneboxes, girls (and a few boys) could enjoy a Rimmel rescue treatment in the form of a free consultation and make-over by our team of eight professional beauticians.
The Rimmel Oasis was perfectly placed to touch festival goers on their way to the main stage. Not surprisingly our team were in hot demand throughout the 3 day festival. By Sunday, the novelty of camping had worn off for the 28,000 women on site, who flocked to the Rimmel London bus for a “Rimmel Rescue” to repair their shattered visages!
The Isle of Wight Festival was a huge success for Rimmel London and added a new dimension to the festival for Solo, the festival organizers. Discussions are underway for a festival tour in 2009.
